Doesn't help you guys, but I'll be getting mine done in a few days time by the expert in Southampton. I'll report back on how he does. I £150 for the while you wait service. 2003 4.4 HSE Epsom Green / Sand. Lovely! |

I had the stereo done, I took the car along, he removed the unit, I had a wander about, then went back for re-fit. was about £100 all in. |

@ Mr.Tee, gratulations, here in germany are only some guys who work with this problem (BMW E39 Radio) and they want 150,00 Euro for this work. I had the same problem one year ago, and bought a ribbon-cable from hungaria, with perfect youtube video from powerfuluk hw to remove the dashboard, I could repair it in two hours at home, not easy, but with the instructions no problem. But better is your service, 100 GBP and a walk...

I bought the ribbon cable from AKS and did the MID unit myself. Quite fiddly, but sooo much better being able to read the display now. V8 or else ... |

Pixels all sorted - although he did recommend replacing the display also, as apparently mine was on its way out - thought it worthwhile for another £30 whilst it was all apart...

I regret not getting mine done at the same time as it's getting worse. I feel another gander round Stirling castle may be called for ! |
