Home network question

For the I.T. experts or anyone with knowledge of this item.....help!

I have a WD 3TB Mybook live network hard drive. It is connected directly to my (Belkin) router.
My problem is it is not 'found' when Im trying to set it up. It 'appeared' once and I could name it and load files but ever since it is no longer visible. I can search, try set up cd, look at network map but nothing.
Using the WD 2go app on my iphone I can look at the files, but absolutely nothing on any computer.
Don't know if it's network settings, router set up or what - think I'm clearly missing something here.

I bought it to store shared files, mostly films/music and stream direct to my internet tv.

Any ideas Sad

Login to the router, (web interface) you should be able to find it there, what it's IP address is etc (and make this a static IP), perhaps even name it, make sure your MyBook is serving up samba or cifs (Windows File Sharing).

Then with that info try from a PC. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

Kingpleb I may take you up on that offer later I have got a bit further.

My wifes/daughters/sons laptop can all access it wirelessly and view anything. ( windows 7 x 2 and 1 x Mac)

My laptop = nothing (Windows 7 wireless)
Main computer = nothing ( windows 7 wired)
Internet TV = Nothing ( Sony bravia internet wireless)

Ive logged into the router and its in static routing list

Do I need to look at the home network setting on one of theirs and copy to others?
Ive tried turning firewall off ( Eset ) and nothing changes.
