You sure your FFRR is ok Andy as id say unless the conditions are severe they are both equal, with more stability and comfort going to the ffrr tbh Smile

tyres and rear diff are the biggies when it comes to the standard setups against each other Wink FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

My ride of choice I'm afraid. I sold the FFRR...

So, how does it compare? Thumbs Up

I've had the D3 for 2 years, and wanted the FF as well - more luxurious in every way, fabulous stereo, a better ride, lovely leather seats - but smaller inside, less practical, not as sharp a drive.

The decision came one day when (a) I needed to lose at least one car and (b) I realised that faced with keys to the D3, my S4 cabriolet and the FF, I always took the D3... Graham

Nothing wrong with my FFRR but as you say tyres are very important and the Rangie has stock 20" Pirelli Zero's with the Disco on Pirelli ATR's which makes a difference and that coupled with the fact that my car is worth twice as much I would rather have an "icy incident" in the D3 Whistle

A D3 is a more utilitarian device but still very likeable. The TDV6 is slow in comparison with either TDV8, ride isn't as good but it rolls less, it's nothing like as refined as a newish RR, lots more space inside (the back seats stay down in ours and it makes a decent van). In terms of driving through fields and the like there's nothing really to split them (on the same tyres). Ours averages about 25-26 mpg.

I think the D4 has just gone past that stage where you don't want to use it properly in case you mess up the nice interior (like the RR) and the chav facelift is terrible, but the 3.0l is a massive improvement over the 2.7l.

Really? I had a bad problem with wranglers "cupping" on my old FFRR so have stayed clear ever since Shocked 2015 L405 SDV8 Autobiography, Indus Silver with Black Pack.

Wranglers all the way for me Smile
Contis were really useless in mud.
Scorps ok in mud and snow but not as grippy on the road when wet and greasy.
Wranglers just good all round Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
