As your car is BMW era, I would suggest you DOUBLE PRESS the lock button which deactivates the interior sensors and tilt sensors. 10MY- it's the opposite way round. |

On my 2006 the double press (press once, wait for 2 seconds, press again) locks the car and disables the interior sensors, so mutley's safe and not setting of the alarm. Haven't tried the windows down yet - only needed to use it a couple of times in the winter when raining and for short (5min) periods.

Why not lock the doors, disable the alarm as before described, tie the dog in the boot and leave the top half of the boot fully open. Unless you have a hamster of a dog, I can't see anyone trying to get in the car past the rotty? Current MY2020
