Just how fast do Range Rovers depreciate??

Trying to get an idea of how fast the prices will be falling on 2006/2007 Range Rover TDV8's and 4.2 Supercharged. At the moment there are loads of them at £33k-£35k (just outside my budget of £28k-£30k! Crying or Very sad ) but im prepared to wait for them to come down. Realistically I don't want to (can't) spend more than £30,000 and it looks like everything I want is up at £33k-£35k (perfect spec and miles etc). I have seen a few bargains slip through the net but they've not quite matched my wishlist.

So...

Realistically, how long do you think it will be before the 2007MY FFRR drop a few grand and more start appearing sub £30k. I'm hoping that the deeper we get into 2010 (away from the Winter and past March into the new reg) the prices will come down. I'm happy to wait a few months, but am I in for a long long wait?

Well, if the earliest 56 plate TDV8's are still over 30k and that's now 3.5 years ago, you can do a sliding scale and estimate it.

However, you can't use the TD6 values as a guide because the TDV8 is much more desirable. I'd say in the next 12 months you'll find some under 30k but I would hazardaguess they won't be the low miles and great condition ones. Discovery 4 HSE

all depends on the economy too, approx 12 months ago there were several early TDV8's around under £30k due to the recession, then prices firmed up and FFRR prices increased as virtually no new vehicles were being registered.

If the economy pics up, prices will drop rapidly due to new vehicle registrations.

Having owned many new RR from new, it has tought me that on a new vehicle you can reckon on losing £10k a year in the first 3 to 4 years...

hope thats some help

Mine has appreicated!

I paid 11K already with LPG nearly 2 years ago, just before the Gov changed their mind on car tax rules. Now I think I could sell it for 15k easily. 16-18 if I didnt want a quick sale.

No, it's a proper engine. The way god intended Range Rovers to be powered.

(Although, God being English and all would have preferred the Rover V8, but the EU slapped him down over emissions)

So you would prefer a V8 rather than a TDV8 if you were buying a 2008 say......

Me thinks not old friend Laughing

Honestly I would! If I had the money it would probably be the S/C.

I don't like diesels, mainly because I don't understand how they work. All I know it's some sort of witchcraft.

Gets some diesel and find a way of compressing it really hard and Abracadabra .....Witchcraft - BANG Big Cry

Oh and it would have to be the S/C (No Vogue SE Spec Interior) if you want the Wallet Burning V8 rather than the Diesel Burning V8 Smile
