United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover SE TDV8 Stornoway Grey
Repatriation

Hi guys.
Bit of a long shot, but does anyone have any experience of bringing a relative back to the uk?

My father in law had a massive stroke in Ireland this week, which he didn't manage to survive. He's lived there since retiring 10 yrs ago with the mother in law.

As he's English, we're thinking it might be better to bring him home. I'm not sure what we need to do though and the bank holiday doesn't help.

As it stands, I think the family are planning a cremation and then the ashes brought back here. Again, what is the procedure if they choose this option? Anyone know?

Thanks in advance for any help 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

All very complex and lots of legalities to be aware of. Let the funeral director deal with it.

I had the same issue with my father, bringing him from France to Wales.

All I needed was the death certificate at the airport to accompany the Urn.

Very sorry to hear that Noddy. Hopefully it's some consolation that you got there in time.

Funeral directors here will know all about how to do that; it's not uncommon since so many people have relations on both sides of the water.

Hi Noddy,

No advice from me, I'm afraid, but I do send sympathy and condolences.

I read your earlier post about your dash across to Ireland and how you arrived in time. I was hopeful all would turn out well, and it was quite a shock to log-on this morning and see that it didn't.

Steven
