In my previous X5, on auto in daylight or fog - push the front fog button and voila all the lamps you need. Then when you switch off - all off.
This would have been one of the more useful BMW additions imo.

I noticed that South Africa is one of the possible settings in the control software. Maybe I should do that and see if I can now run fogs with headlights in auto. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Is yours electronic park brake, or the tradional pull up type.....wondering if the change happened then, as my March 2006 SC *didn't* allow that, but my Nov 2006 TDV8 does..... Land Rover Addict

I got a flat battery on my 2002 TD6 again, despite a solar charger
when i put the jump leads on the other car I got them the wrong way round and didnt realise for 30 seconds ish.
the lights & ignition lock don't work now! is there a fuse that blows? the clock reset itself when i changed the leads round, so there must be power somewhere.

Sadly an expensive mistake I would think as it has possibly fried a few ECUs. Please let us know the outcome

Yes please let us know. Amazing that LR would not have protection (diodic or SS) for such expensive electronics- then again maybe not. They've done a pretty s@&Łe jib with the rest of the "systems" in the car

The new update from Gap-Diagnostics on their IIDTool, I think it's V2.17 allows you to modify the light settings so that you can run the fog lamps while in automatic headlight mode and when the headlights are off. Another nice feature is the confirmation beep when the doors are locked or unlocked. 2006 HSE

Here's a funny one, i am currently restoring a Mitsubishi Evo 6 for a good customers wife and today i replaced the front fog lamps and fitted the bumper, on testing the system if you push just the fog light switch front or rear, the fog lights come on and the side/head lights too without touching the headlight stalk! How cool is that!!! All from a 2000MY Mitsi!!!

Check all the fuses including the larger 50amp larger fuses. Then Do a hard battery reset and hope for the best! Iv'e heard of stranger things working!

I put my new battery in last night, but I am still unable to get the ignition keys to turn - any ideas?

Cheers,
David
