Hello,

I've just bought a MY2006 RR 4.2 S/C, so I thought I'd join you all. Hope you don't mind. Wink

My car is due for delivery over the next couple of days - diary permitting - so I'll post a couple of pics when it gets here if anyone is interested?

Awesome choice! Thumbs Up

Welcome to the forum.

Did you manage to sneak into a facelifted car with the electronic handbrake and new terrain response system etc - some 56 plate cars had it.

Either way - great choice (but I'm massively biased).

We need pics. Here's my obsession -

Oh...and if you'd like a list of things you can start spending even more money on...just let me know...

You know, 'pointless' stuff that'll annoy your missus like, LED bulbs, colour coding your mirrors / vents / door handles, new mats, boot liners, shiny new badges...that kind of thing. Wink Rolling Eyes Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

I managed to miss out on the electric handbrake and terrain response knob, unfortunately, but it's got everything else. As far as I can tell after a couple of brief viewings, anyway - I plan on having a good play with it when it gets here. Very Happy

I'd be more than happy to start spending what little money I have left on bits and pieces for the car - although I doubt my missus will tell me off for it. On account of me being a missus myself, and therefore having a mister at home. Wink

Plans are already afoot for a sports exhaust, but shiny new badges as well? Tell me more!!

That's too funny. As I was typing that, I thought that, actually, you could of course be of the fairer sex and therefore my post could appear massively assumptive and a little sexist. Excellent work me..offend the new member in your first post.... Embarassed Whistle

Anyway, same theory still applies, you can just spend your money and annoy "him indoors" instead! Wink

The electronic handbrake and new off road system weren't options, they were part of a facelift that Land Rover did in MY2007, but some 2006 registered cars had it, hence my question.

Take a look at Powerful UK, DCC4x4 and a plethora of other sites and you'll find plenty of shiny trinkets to part you from your hard earned!

Enjoy. Very Happy Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

Welcome, lots of friendly members here, plenty of good advice and not that I've fell foul yet, but it appears a good bit of banter to punish you, when you type something stupid!
Congratulations on your purchase.

That's okay, no offence taken! I'm not a ranting feminist or anything. Rolling with laughter And I promise I won't post daft questions like "where should I hang my handbag in my RR?" or "where can I get a 'Powered by fairy dust' sticker"! (Although the latter might be good for a laugh...!)

Spending lots of money on the car won't annoy my OH in the slightest - quite the opposite, I expect. He loves his cars as well. We've already had an interesting discussion on what we can do to the car while it's still under the dealer's warranty. Cool

I am so not going to look at those websites just yet, that would be a very bad plan. Very Happy I've paid the dealer the balance this morning, and now I'm sitting here desperate for him to call to confirm when he can get the car delivered! My P/X is clean (well, cleaner...), the insurance is on standby to switch across - all I need is the car!

Hello and welcome.
Please just no eyelashes on it, although I am sure someone will offer advice on suitable handbag locations. Stan might even have a link to Wiki already! lol
Very Happy Mine was a blue one! Smile

Just a little tip, run fuel cleaner for a few tanks. For whatever reason S/Cs seem to be sensitive to a check engine light thrown by running a bit rich (we're talking about 1 or 2 % here). The fuel cleaner seems to help although we don't know exactly why (my theory is dirty fuel or "gumming" do to standing still for a while lets some injectors "drip" a bit, so extra fuel going in after the injector closes or slow closing of the injector due to dirt). Anyway, just a tip to avoid unnecessary trips to dealers/indy's.

Oh and on the handbag, behind the driver seat on the ground as one tends to be a bit "enthusiastic" when driving an S/C and you don't want a handbag (or in my case a laptop bag) ending up flying around the cabin during a more spirited run Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Thanks for the tip, sounds like a good idea! Any particular type of fuel cleaner, or will any do?

I know what you mean about spirited runs - my present car is a Volvo 850 T5. Wink I'm a bit concerned that the dog might rattle around in the boot of the RR, though - might have to get it padded for her!

I've just had a message to say that the car might be delivered today. Surprised
