Sounds like your key needs reprogramming. Follow these instructions ......it worked for me after a couple of goes!

Just wasn't quick enough the first go. The only reason I did this is because my spare key did as yours does when I first got the car. ie everthing worked except the central locking. Here's the link I got it from:

Possibly the key has never been programmed with your rover I just got a brandnew key from LR and thought I was being smart trying to program it myself but it wont turn in the ignition (it works the locks) there must be something with it having a new transponder F**K IT you only live once |

your new key is missing the transponder or it has not been programmed, that's why you cant turn the key as it does not see the transponder chip... V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

No offence but I'm pretty sure that's what I just said LR wouldn't have sold me a key with no transponder F**K IT you only live once |

i think you will find land rover will not sell a uncoded key, if the key was brought for your vin then ether it was not programmed correctley or it has been programmed with the wrong code, has your ignition been changed.. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.
