United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue

EDIT - Sorry - axle replied whilst I was typing War & Peace !!

That looks really nice. Excellent. I've been in the 4.4 BMW engined RR with a Hhan exhaust, but have yet to sample the delights of a Supercharged...........

The BMW engine was never supercharged.

Extracts (and reworded a bit) from the 40th Anniversary Guide ;

All SC Rangies had the Jaguar derived engine, with an Eaton supercharger with twin meshing impellers that were PTFE coated to improve charge pressure. The cylinder block liners had wider walls to increase strength of the block, which resulted in the reduced engine capacity compared to the naturally aspirated engine.

Valve timing was fixed on the Supercharged, and variable on the normally aspirated 4.4.

The petrol engines were marries to a new 6 speed ZF automatic gearbox, replacing the earlier 5 speed unit. The Torsen centre differential was also replaced with an electronically controlled unit which allowed more flexibility in torque split between the front and rear axles.

The older arrangement was retained for the diesel models. (of that era).

Hope this helps

England 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Java Black

Unfortunately - not such good news on my prospective purchase!

Turns out that it has more history than documented, a new engine at 24k miles for a start and a couple of LR service stamps that the dealers cannot marry up with their records (no trace).

I am taking advice as it is a lovely car and all this was 55k miles and five years ago. It may still be worth buying with a further £3k discount. We'll see.

Neutral

Thanks for the engine and diff info Smile Aerodynamics are for those who cannot build engines - Enzo Ferrari

I don't see a replacement engine as a major issue - does it not mean the car has done even less miles........as it were ?

Obviously the replacement must have been done right.

If it were me, I'd have it serviced myself, so you know where you stand, and go from there with the service history.

Take it they have checked via the VIN rather than reg no, as it may have had a private plate ?

Trouble is, you get something else and you are less happy, as the bodywork isn't as good etc - who knows.

This obviously depends on you actually still wanting the car

That said, you know what price you want it for, and what people are asking for other cars, so you make a choice.........

Just my 2p

Well, what can i say - after a lot of phoning around by both the last owner and I we have eventually pieced together the history, so all's good there.

I also stopped off at another main dealer today on my way back who were really helpful and, he ran a check on all the times it had been in to a main dealer.

Seems that some plonker did in fact enter the wrong mileage on the database when it had the replacement engine at a year old! This wasn't realised until it next went in. It is even noted on the car's record that an "unfortunate" error was made!

So, once I get all the paperwork together, including the invoice for the engine replacement work, hopeful I can get the NMR to amend their records. If not, no biggy. It was four years and sixty odd thousand miles ago, and I'll have paperwork to show the true tale.

The car will be going into LR Pickering some time in the next week or so for a full service, removable tow bar and boot liner.

It is a beauty though. A joy to drive and look at Smile

It appears that now, I may be considered a bona fide member of Harrogate society. Now where are them yella cords?

Do I really need to upload them to an intermediary site before I can put them on here? Aerodynamics are for those who cannot build engines - Enzo Ferrari

An electronic centre diff in the transfer box was standard, and allowed fitment of the Terrain Response.

An electronic diff in the rear axle was an option.

Should be slightly clearer now. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
