Just bought a TV digital upgrade unit part no 6 966 696 to replace my analogue unit. - I thought it would be just plug and play, the installation was easy just replaced one for one all the connections were the same.

When I first switched it on I could see some digital channels but the mute was on so I pressed the rescan buttton and now no channels at all !!

Argggg ... What am I doing wrong?

Program is set to AV and there is no option to change this - anybody know what this is?
TV format - what should this be? -I have tried several different options PAL, SECAM etc still no channels found.


my car is a 2004 RR - pre touch screen
the old analogue unit was YIL 000023

With digital, there is no pal,SECAM whatever to set up, just ignore all those settings. Before you try anything else, drive to somewhere else and try it again. They need a decent signal to work. Mine will not work in my drive but does work at the end of the road... Worth a try. Previously..
Vogue SE TD6
Defender 90 2.4
Defender 110 TD5
Vogue 3.5 EFI

System working now - just needed to move the car to get a signal......Simples.....

I bought the Unit on ebay - just over £400 - ouch, but probably cheaper than a gearbox!!!

Gearbox!!!! oops how many miles have you done? - I have done just over 70k they say that any time from now the gearbox goes - up here they are getting them done for around 2.5k.

56kmiles, it was the pump, i'm a bit ed about the turn around as the company doing the pump have "forgotten" to make it the most important job in shop so its turned into a 2 week job. Cost wise i was quoted £1700 & vat so i'm hoping to know a few quid off for the time its taken.
