Newbie - Project De-chav

Hi Folks,

Few weeks into my 2002 TD6 that I bought as pictured.

Needs a few tweaks so I can feel less like Wayne Rooney, namely Overfinch rear bumper to be swapped for the standard item - sometimes it looks good but other times it looks a bit boyracer bodykit style and not having an matching front doesnt help. Its a shame as it is a quality item.
Also got new tyres for the alloys which I also plan to quiet down a little with a different colour - dark silver/light grey.

Been after a diesel RR for a while as my daily was a 996 turbo but this will now be for the weekend! Old man has a 2005 Supercharged Vogue which myself and GF loved using so this has been a great comprimise.

This site has been really helpful too with a few buying guides I read!

Maybe sell the Overfinch Bumper & Wheels and get a nice set of Factory 20", with those two changes you will have a very nice TD6.

Is it wrapped or painted?

From that angle I am not sure it is an original Overfinch rear bumper ... looks like one of PowerfulUK's HST conversion bumpers. Stephen Gazard

Have you got the high level brake light missing on top of the tailgate?

Looks in fine fettle for an '02, welcome to the 10 year club Smile .

The main issue with the car right now is the terrible wheels.

Get a set of 20" 2010 upwards wheels and new style range rover centre caps and I reckon it would look pretty OK.

Not to mention white wheels are hideously hard to keep clean

Jenks, did you specifically look for one that had a conversion done ? And did you/were you pay a premium for this over a non converted car? Reason I ask is that I have a converted SC which I am looking to sell soon and am looking at how to pitch it.....

Agree with losing the white wheels by the way..... Either silver or black/gunmetal would look so much better

Re: Newbie - Project De-chav

Thanks for the replies and feedback.

Mr Tee - No not Newcastle, Glasgow. May have been for sale in Newcastle a while back though?

Gazellio @ Prestige Cars - I hear what you are saying but I quite like the alloys. Yes its a wrap in Matt white - silver underneath.

Stephen.Gazard - Ahh! plot thickens, ahh well wont get as much pennies as I thought then! Crying or Very sad

Joe90 - Yeah I bought a new brakelight from the new showroom in Edinburgh for just over £50, guy on ebay was wanting £90 for a 2nd hand unit! Laughing

SAppie
- Terrible? Easy tiger, each to there on and all that, as said above I like the alloys - think its a generation thing, I'm 27 and before I had 19" alloys on my TT, 17" alloys on my Corrado, etc, etc I know you can go too big, specially on the RR sport, but I think the size of the vehicle can pull them off.

5IMON - Laughing these alloys are easy! I have BBS LM's on the porka and they are a total b!tch to clean!!! Big Cry

SupaCharged - Aim was to buy a good diesel and next year do the full conversion as I looked into it - approx £3.5K but I'm sure it can be done cheaper if you can do it yourself. But then this popped up, yes its tatty in places and needs a bit of tidying but I feel I got the conversion for free as I only paid a little more than some of the other RR's I saw. So I feel its been a good buy. Regarding your car - I'd say people will most definately pay a premium for the conversion as from a distance it really does look like the newer 70K model.

Polux - Sorry not for sale at the moment! Laughing

dannyp15 - Did think about Black but I think it'd be too harsh on the eye and black wheels on white cars is starting too look a bit tacky imo - def going down dark silver/grey route. Yeah back bumper at some angles looks plain daft as no front bumper to follow the lines.

Hope to get some updates but been busy with work and my VW camper Mad

Cheers
