From what I understand the "GM" 5 speed TDV6 box is a bit underrated for the job and can cause issues when the miles pile up. The V8 got the ZF 6-speed with the 2006 Model Year availalable on 05 Reg facelift cars and up... Prices from about 19k - £22k depending on mileage. All TDV8 have the ZF 6-speed also. |

My TD6 had done 91,000 miles and the 5 speed was fine, never had Any issues and loved driving it on long trips, even ten hours straight to Provence. It's a reliable and sturdy engine and box combination. Discovery 4 HSE

Jag TD6? The TD6 is only BMW, the Jag Burner is the TDV6 but this was never available in the FFRR... The FFRR had the Jag TDV8 from 2007+ |

Jag models, not necessarilly jag engines.... Jag models are the fiber optic ones, the ones with the touch screen, venture cam, etc.. even though they had the BMW diesel engine from the 530d, etc... Even today in the TDV8 some parts are BMW. Don't know about more recent cars but early tdv8's still have a BMW throttle. PS-''GAZ'' look at some of my other posts. I know which engine and model is which, in each MY...... |

I am not questioning you knowledge however it was my understanding that the BMW sourced TD6 engine continued to be mated to the GM 5L40-E transmission until it was replaced by the Jaguar sourced TDV8.

FWIW there were face lift models but before the new interior that had Jag 4.4 V8's that had the 6 speed "box" but I'm pretty sure the TD6 stuck with the 5 speed till the end. 2008 MY Supercharged

got to agree there, if it had been a Classic I would know the g/b and M/Y spec in detail - but with the new shapes since the P38 I have just lost interest - soul-less vehicles |
