My car may be older than yours, but I tend to shout "Map" to get the sat nav map pn the screen rather than go through the menu.

And for voice dialing.

Seems to work OK.

Not tried Navigation go home though. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Ha ha! Voice control, one of my 'must have' spec items that I never use!

I used to keep a little cheat sheet of what all the possible commands were in my 6 series, but soon realised that reaching behind the sun visor and trying to read what I wanted to say was a) massively unsafe and b) far slower than just pressing the buttons to do what I needed to do.

If the technology was flawless I think it'd be a phenomenal bit of kit, but personally I don't think it's up to much in the 2002-2009 cars. I've been told that voice control is much improved in the newer (2009-) FFRRs (mine's a 2007).

Having said all that though I do use it. When someone who hasn't seen my car gets in, I go, "...and it's got voice control....watch this..." show them a command or two and then don't use it again until I show the next person!

Heads up display was the same in my 6 series. I insisted on having it and then realised I actually found it quite distracting! Although it was great for putting on the Top Gun soundtrack a pretending to be Maverick.

"Negative Ghostrider the pattern is full..."

"Hit the brakes, he'll fly right by..."

"Yeeee haaaa, Jester's dead..."

And so on.... Embarassed Past (too many to list, but a few favs)...

Ended up shouting at the vc in my 5 series, havent even tried it in the ff.

It will be thick as Censored anyway so whats the point.

Might try the display off command though... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

It's painful (unless I'm doing it wrong).

"Phone Dial Name"

Name please?

"Home"

recording of me saying "Home"
Is this correct? Say "yes" or "no"

"Yes"

Dialing

The aston allows you to use Siri on the iPhone which is a bit better for phone stuff.

I found the voice control in my old TD6 to be pretty useless unless i talked at the window and even then it was not good.

However in the TDv8 that i now have it works everytime. I use for the Nav and the zoom in and out works great, display show audio, phone etc is great and the phone dial name works everytime and is much safer than looking on the screen or phone itself. Current 2010 Vogue SE, Stornoway Grey with Storm Leather,Deployable steps, Vision Pack

Tried mine a few times and realised that I really needed to RTFM properly before getting so utterly fed up with it.

Will give it another go, but it's the least pressed button I have in my FF. Si. <This is my name.
