Sometimes I find water trapped between the door seals after it has been raining on the drivers side (rh) rear door.

Could be just water running down the drainage channels either side of the tailgate door. I've noticed mine make a bit of a noise in heavy rain, it surprising how much water can run down them.

Had the same problem on my Td6 on both back doors holding water between seals and getting a deluge when opening back doors after rain. If you look at bottom of doors there's a drain hole outside the seal. Apparently there's a water shedder plate inside the door that is supposed to channel any water coming into the door via the window aperture. These shedder plates often come adrift - the cure is to strip the interior door panel off and refix the shedder plate with a sealant like Sikaflex. You'll find that if you look at the bottom of your interior door panel after rain it'll be wet. This confirms that shedder not doing its job and letting water past which is then trapped between the double seal on door. Never got around to fixing mine tho. Common problem according to my clued up Indy. |
