how long/easy is it to reassign the original number? I presume they would have to send the docs away?

Yes, that's the usual practice. You'd only get a new number if the car was registered from new (or from import, if applicable) with the private plate. Graham

DVLA state the whole process can take upto 6 weeks but in my experience plates are fitted in around 10days and logbook another week/10days... Craig ![]() |

If the seller is near a dvla office i think it can be done over the counter, i put a private plate on mine over the counter. Easy peasy if you have all the papers. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
