Why dont Land Rover Dealers prep their stock?

I've viewed a couple of 60 plates in recent weeks. Both had bodywork to sort. Why? They were not fresh in and were on the forecourt with price stickers. Seems unprofessional to me. Am I unrealistic?

New Zealand 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green

Talk to Gazellio, his cars look immaculate (at least on the pics). I don't understand a dealer that wants to sell a car doesn't make it look brilliant before anyone comes and see it. To me it sounds like they don't realize how important the first look of a car is in selling it. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Wales 2003 Range Rover SE Td6 Zambezi Silver

It seems pretty common to see cars for sale with little jobs that need doing. I often think it is so they can offer to throw a new mirror in or put new tyres on the car etc. as if they are doing the customer a favour. Or even say they will give it a free valet before you drive it away.

To me, it's the wrong approach, the cars should be perfect on the forecourt. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Zermatt Silver

I looked at a 4.4 Vogue at a reputable LR specialist before buying my current model. It was described as immaculate.

The parcel shelf was missing, scratches on the bodywork (easily sorted) and it needed a good detail.

So it wasn't immaculate. But it has put me off going back there as it seems to me that if they can't describe (and present) a car properly, what hope do they have when it comes to servicing?

My E55, by contrast, was (and is) truly immaculate. I keep in contact with the dealer and went to him first with my requirements for a FF. The one he had (ex Alan Sugar) was just outside my price range and didn't have the interior colour I wanted, but I would have bought it with total peace of mind unseen.

It's not the first sale that counts. It's the second. Si. <This is my name.

I eat rat poison.

Burls - PM me with what you are after as we have a few in stock (prep'd of course!) Whistle

We have a couple of 11 plate Vogue SE's which spring to mind at mid-£50k's.

Both black, one with Ivory and one with Jet. More expensive one has done 3,000 miles less, however apart from that they are similar. They are priced to sell, therefore there is very little I can do 'deal wise', however if you are interested then we would love to discuss it in more detail with you.

James Thumbs Up

Thanks James.

I've already spoken to Jeremy briefly about the cars you mention. He is due to call me. Give him a nudge if you like Wink He was looking at my Audi.
