It may be me, and I may be becoming paranoid, but I've a suspicion that the top of my dash seems to "come up" to go over the screen.

When I look at pictures online, the dash top seems to be more straight, if you see what I mean.

Is it possible to remove it and put it back on better ?

i kinda see what you mean, irritating as it may be is it worth trying to take it off and possibly breaking something? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Do all the vogues from that era have a stitched leather top dash?

I have an HSE, and its not leather topped, just wondering if its a stadard trim for the vogue.

If it isn't, and thats an after market covering, then its possible the dash hasn't been sat back down properly. the top dash slides forward into slots, and then is held in place by the bolts you see on the top of it. Possible that its not slotted correct?

That being said, from my experience, the dash either fits into place or doesn't with very little inbetween. V8 or else ...

Yes...

It's fairly easy to remove, find the PowerfulUK video on Youtube and it's all there. As I recall, you pull it towards you (ie front to back) to get it off, so perhaps yours has been off and not properly re-seated?

I'll prob have a look over the weekend, but imagine that maybe I'll have to get the dashtop straight by taking it off and leaving it with something sat on it.......

........I may be lucky and it goes back better.

Normally the dash pad is held down by numerous hooks un the bottom of the pad that slide into appropriate slots on the (very complex) under dash structure as well as the large torx screws.
Almost looks to me as if whoever R&R'd the pad either missed several of the slots so that the hooks are now on top of the under-dash structure rather than in the slots or several of the hooks are broken and the dash is warping in the heat of the sun.
Either way, the only way to repair is to R&R...

I was hoping that there was some sort of clip that had been missed, or rested on top of.

Ended up out all weekend, so will investigate next weekend........

I've just spent a few hours removing and refitting the dash top, and the end result is that the dash is pretty much in the correct position now.

The worst bit of the job was removing the face level vents from the end caps.........about 40 mins for the drivers side !!

The centre section of dash clipped back into place properly and the refit began......
