Warranty renewal time

DOR 16/6/09 so its getting towards the time to extend the warranty. Was thinking of just extending the original LR one for £1125 inc assist.

Is this the best one for the money?

car has done 37k fyi.

regards Richard

I am renewing with LR but not with the assist option. The AA will turn up anyway so go through quidco and get AA (excluding home breakdown) for £20 after cashback. No cost monthly payments too for the warranty.

Is LR's warranty still excluding all AV equipment? This is a complete cop out IMO.

The one quentin wilson advertises seems pretty comprehensive. Never used it but seem to remember when i was looking last year that it included av kit. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

United States 2005 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 Chawton White

interesting.

There was a big discussion on another RR board about extended warranties.
My questions:
How much did the warranty you currently have (that is expiring soon) cost?
What was the dollar (OK, pounds if you insist) cost of the repairs the warranty paid for?
Does the warranty require the work to be done at a dealer?
If so, how much would you have saved by NOT going to the dealer?

You're at 37k km; just getting "broken in".
Why don't you just take that 1125GBP and put it in the bank? Then, if something breaks, you can pay for it.

Never had a warranty on a vehicle; I'm not clear on why people buy them.
I mean, for routine maintenance, you just do that. An accident or glass damage, your insurance pays for it.
Wear and tear items aren't covered, are they?
So... tires, brakes, fluids & filters, you're on your own.
What's left? Jim

2008 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue

I've just renewed the LR extended warranty for a second time on my 2008 Vogue SE TDV8. Last year had the heated windscreen replaced under warranty because some of the elements had stopped working and an area didn't clear properly. At the moment I've done it for convenience.

Previously had the Quentin Wilson WarrantyWise on the wife's XC90, and for those 2 years I think we actually were better off. Various parts of the transmission, 2 self levelling shock absorbers etc. Even at an independent the repairs cost more than we paid in annual premium for the warranty. It was a bit of hassle though, as you have do do all of the leg work between the garage and WarrantyWise.

One annoying thing with the LR extended warranty, any software upgrades are not included as they are deemed improvements, and aren't cheap. I guess though you wouldn't get them through WarrantyWise either. With the TDV8 I don't think that there was too big a cost difference on the warranty, although as pointed out elsewhere covers better on the WW one ie SatNav and ICE etc.

Australia 2008 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Rimini Red

My situation is a bit different from most others here but I live two and a half hours away from my nearer dealer so with a land rover warranty plus assist if I have a problem I call Land Rover assist who say that have no one near Rolling Eyes so they call The Stag garage who are on the list of garages and tow trucks , they throw their hand in the air and say it can't be fixed here and tow my car to Glasgow . Meanwhile another tow truck has to be dispatched with my hire care on it ( usually nothing to horrid if I insist on an automatic that I am due ) When every thing is done this whole proses is reversed all at a cost well north of the £1175 I paid for the warranty and not including the cost of any repair Very Happy So for me it's a no brainer Thumbs Up 2008 MY Supercharged
Rimini Red / Jet
four zone climate
remote park heater
and no ugly kid windows.
