How to get items out of windscreen demister vents?!

Hey FFRR team.
Newbie to LR's and loving my '05 Vogue.

Dropped a bolt down the demister hole below windscreen today, wondering if theres a trick to extracating it?
Tried looking under the pollen filter, no luck...

Any one else found a solution to this?
Thanks

Thanks!

Thats exactly what I was doing when dropped it down....
Even with it off, there is no access or visibility down the demister vents, the dash ends before the vents.

Any other thoughts please?

Magnet should work.
I dropped a fixing inside the engine bay, it fell onto the under engine cover, fished it out with a magnet, found it and dragged it off to the nearest hole.

Magnet is a brilliant idea, thanks.
The hole is very small so it wont be very powerful, but i'll give it a go.

Still, if anyone knows an easy way to get into the demist vents, please let us know.

This is the air duct system. Item 2 are the windscreen air vents.
To be honest unless you totally dismantled the dash I doubt you you could get in to remove the offending duct to get to the screw. You could always hope it's settled somewhere never to be seen or heard of again. Very Happy

No luck with the magnet, wont drop down far enough.
Luckily, it has dropped somewhere silently Thumbs Up

Thanks for the suggestions. If you're working on your dash, keep a grip on those bolts, they roll straight down the dash into the hole! L322 4.4 Vogue MY03 - Her name is Bulletproof .... you already know she's not Smile
