Does anybody know if...?

Re electrically operated / adjustable steering wheels which do seem sometimes to be problematic and maybe an expensive fix I wondered if, once a satisfactory postition had been found, whether it is possible to leave it locked in that position (maybe take a fuse out?) so that it remains stationery when the ignition key is removed/inserted. (I have'nt yet found my 'perfect' L322 - the search contines - otherwise I would try it myself.

Mines the same but just when it auto adjusts to facilitate easy entry and exit of very fat people (I say this because I'm no circus dwarf) - it auto lifts to it's highest tilt position. I am eagerly awaiting the ability to disable this feature which i understand this is on the development map for the IIDTool which I have.

Others have just pulled the wires off the motor but this doesn't help if you actually need to move the wheel up and down - assuming you let other people drive it.

Also it's worth noting that you can stop the auto movement of the wheel by just dabbing the adjuster when it tries to move.

I've never had the problems others have recorded on the forum with tabs breaking off etc and control always seems to return on the next start up - odd! Geoff

Simply set it and unplug one or both of the motors behind the cowling... Simples...

I've disabled it using All Comms, however it's good practice to manually move the adjuster once in a while to stop the motors from sticking Thumbs Up

On the MY12 FFRR this action is disabled by turning the adjusting toggle off auto. Sorry I cannot help for earlier models, although a check on TOPIx should explain in the owners handbook.

Mine only work manually, they stay where they are unless I adjust anything. Which suits me fine as I'm the only person who drives my car. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

They do on mine, but you do need memory seats obviously.

Automatically goes in and out of the dash when you put the keys in and out of ignition on early models... Not meaning when you press memory buttons on seats...
