The missus and I are on the hunt for a new house in Greenwich. Our relationship manager mentioned that HSBC use a panel of solicitors (mainly Countrywide) to represent them. Basically you can either use their service or pay a charge of £192 to use your own solicitor. I have read some differing opinions of the experience of using your own solicitor with HSBC (usually Countrywide delaying exchange and settlement). Has anyone had experience of this new process? Paul

Alternatively, can anyone recommend a proactive conveyancer/solicitor? I don't necessarily need a pit bull just one that will make sure everything goes smoothly Paul
