Not that I want to send you back down the path of indecision... But the gearbox is not really 'fragile' per se and most problems are not torque related.

That's a really interesting read, thanks for posting! I am currently considering an RR and test drove a Td6 last night. I loved the car, beautiful condition throughout...BUT I hated the Td6 engine, my main complaints being: - Slow - Rough - Seemingly not that economical (trip suggested 21mpg). However, your experience of a remap seems to solve all these issues - improving power, smoothness and economy! Who remapped your car and did it include the dyno time? I was looking at using Simon @ EMAPS having used him on previous cars with good results. Current fleet: BMW 330Ci M-Sport coupe - daily driver and long distance cruiser Range Rover Classic Vogue SE (3.9 V8 on LPG, soft dash model with EAS) - weekend car and generally uneconomical runabout Suzuki GSX-R750 K6 'Stealth' - trackdays and high speed touring! Wanted: Either FF Range Rover Td6 or Range Rover Sport TDV6 - can't decide! |

Mike C Im currently considering Simon to remap my TD6 too, after owning several BMW's and reading lots of good things about his work on bmw forums (never had anything remapped by him though), let us know if you do decide on a remap and we may be able to barter for a double map if he's coming down this way maybe? |
