So how much should you spend on a Supercharged?

Hi all, I'm new to these parts, so go easy on me! Smile We are looking at FFRR Supercharged with a budget of between £16k and £20k and there seem to be a lot of very similar cars at both ends of this price spectrum. We were thinking of keeping it for up to four years, so part of me says look for an 07 and spend nearer the top end, yet there are obviously 05 and 06 cars for a few thousand less that look exactly the same. If I went for one of these I would end up with perhaps less depreciation, but would I end up being likely to spend the extra on additional upkeep due to it being older? I appreciate this is probably an impossible question to answer, as every car is different, so I suppose I'm just looking for a few opinions and/or experiences. Thanks. Bow down

Well you could spend less on the 05 / 06 models , or spend a few quid more on the 07 Mdls and get the updated interior , which looks a lot nicer , and depending who previously owned them will go along way in their future maintenance , best try and get one that has FLRSH if possible ….

But saying that you get maybe get an 07 mdl and spend pounds on it , then again you might get a 05 /06 which may run trouble free … catch 22 Thumbs Up ====================================

For me the decision would be based on

1) Mileage
2) Condition
3) Age
4) Service History

A Low mileage slighly older car may serve you better than a higher mileage newer one.

I bought an 06 with 16700 miles on it around 18 months ago, and touch wood its been great. Although its only done 25000 miles now.

I also suggest to spend your money on the right car, rather than keep some back just in case.

Just my thoughts
Andy

Personal view of course, but IMHO the updated interior is way better. Worth the extra. You should find it on 07 cars onwards. Graham

There seem to be quite a few people still asking £20k for 05 cars, which does seem a little strong. I notice also that a RRS seems to command the same if not more money than the FFRR. Someone else commented on another thread realted to the disposal of their own S/C that they thought the values were about to fall off a cliff. I suppose with the new shape just around the corner, there may be an element of truth in that.

So the nice 80k mile car on ebay at £19k before any attempt at negotiation would appear to be keenly priced then. Thanks for your help. Very Happy

Seen the Car and it looks very nice and "seems" to be an honest sale.

I would get an inspection carried out whilst under deposit.
