Flashing!

I have been advised by an esteemed contributor that I should get my gearbox flashed with the latest software version as I've been having a problem with pickup from low revs and of course I have the clunk as drive is engaged at low speed that is a feature of this box.

Does anyone know when the newest version was for my TDV8 and can it only be done at a Main Dealer? Geoff

Hmm, I suspect, but don't know for sure, that mine was flashed/re-mapped when the dealer last had it, and I can't say it's helped. It now holds onto lower gears for longer when accelerating, and on the motorway, on cruise, any suggestion of a hill has it changing down. We drove down to the Alps a couple of weeks ago and the French autoroutes are hilly - in the end I stuck in 6th in manual to stop this happening, which the car was quite happy with.

I think Carlos one of the Fullfat members had this done fairly recently. If you PM him he might be able to advise.

Have you had your car remapped as that might sort it out as it doesnt happen on mine and not sure if my 08 has had the flash. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

I had mine done by the stealer when I bought mine last summer. I had a 'lurch' between 1st and 2nd which the software update cleared for me. If you want to try them back 2 back Geoff send me a PM
