To the members SOUTH of the border...

The M1 between Dublin and the north, is it any good or is it like or A1 in the UK and always full of lorries doing 50mph on the inside lane and 51mph on the outside lane??

Thinking of getting a ferry over from 'the pool'(liverpool) instead of my usual stranrear/cairnryan=>belfast route as the fuel the car miles are reduced MASSIVELY and the ferry prices are quite cheap for this half term for a stay of only a few days Smile

Works out even cheaper than getting some cheapo UK airline and hiring some shed of a car as flights are about £150-200 and then car hire on top and cost of getting to the airport over here or parking....

Also whats the diesel price in the south at the minute? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Well can't be much help with the traffic question, every time I have driven on m1 it's fine but gets busier the further north u get. All depends on the time of day etc, maybe googsy might be able to help?

Regarding diesel prices, Dublin average is bout 1.57. The more central or big name stations are bout 1.59. Thumbs Up

Cheers Lolo Smile

Gunna have to scrap the plan as it was only going to be for two days and the ferry price has now shot up for some strange reason. Circa £200 Shocked with the fuel and hotel on top of that i cant stomach that cost for 2 days currently. Price of flights, car hire and train to the airport isnt far off either Sad

I wonder if i could get a car transporter to meet me at the port and take me over with him for a few quid and the same on the way back Very Happy FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
