Warranty in Ireland anyone? CarProtect

I have been looking at taking out a warranty and there aren't many providers over here. Anyone had experience with Car Protect? I wouldn't normally take out warranty but knowing this car something big is going to happen in nxt few yrs, I just know it. Got a quote for bout €550 for 2 years, €2,500 per claim and can pick my own garage.. Sounds good to me..

That doesn't sound too bad at all. €2500 should cover most items - especially if you can take it to a good independent and not LR themselves!

Hi Lolo I went to their site and I was getting a quote of 839 for 12 months Shocked

I have a warranty with Mapfre for 12 months though cost 589.

There is another crowd that actually cover wear and tear also as this is vital I think if claiming. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

Have u ever made a claim? Do u know what that place is who cover wear and tear? I thought the quote I got was pretty cheap, 25 quid a mnth, for premium cover. But ur right, what is defined as wear and tear its all down to interpretation could catch me out..

Lolo see below it appears wear on tear is included but defined :

Your Premier Policy Cover includes components from the turbocharger, ABS, ECU, air conditioning, hydropnuematic suspension, engine, timing belts, cooling system, fuel system, gearbox, transmission, torque convertor, driveline, wheel bearings, propshaft/s, suspension & steering, clutch, braking system and named electrical components, including Premature failure of components attributed to wear and tear. Wear & Tear is a term which can only be applied under specific circumstances to components for which the manufacturer recommends periodic replacement throughout the life of the vehicle, for example, wheel bearings and shock absorbers. Car Protect only apply the term “Wear & Tear” to a failed component if at the time of a claim, the part is recommended by the manufacturer for replacement at the vehicles current age/mileage. In this situation, a component would be considered part of the normal servicing requirements outlined by the vehicle manufacturer.

This product includes our comprehensive Premier Breakdown Cover, which includes Nationwide Recovery, Nationwide Assistance & Home Start as standard.

Please see the warranty booklet for full details of the cover provided.

The maximum amount payable on each individual claim inclusive of VAT is 2,000 euro. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

Ok well i have read the booklet and I don't think I'm gonna get better value for money anywhere else.I called them today, they will be able to accept direct debits in 2 weeks, and increasing theirs claim amount to 2,500 and reducing their premiums so I'll wait till then. They seem v casual and pleasant, he said once my service book is up to date that's the main thing. I have made insurance claims before (not on my policy) and it was all v easy, hopefully this is the same. Thanks for ur help Thumbs Up
