Cheers for this thread Joe.

It's been really useful for me to find out the pin-outs of the audio stuff for some improvements I've been trying to do. As you mention somewhere, the Tape-in and CD-in ports seem to want something a bit higher than line level to work properly.

I added one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260957587615?ssP...1423.l2649 to bring the level of the device I wanted to connect up to something that was about right!

A pleasure!

I'm using it as I've got the Parrot MKi9200 in the car to play tunes and do the phone stuff - but when wired in 'normally' using the SOT leads for the car, it over-rides everything. That's good for the phone bit - and that will carry on as it is, but when playing music from the iPhone it blocks sat-nav instructions and TP broadcasts. So wiring the line out of that into the Tape Sockets will allow it all to work as it should!

Simes, How much did you have to crank it up by? .

That little line amp - run it at full gain and it's perfect - same volume compared to the rest of the system.

So - 18dB gain needed.

I am having to put the tape in and out @ 4 times before I get the sound working, I've tried going to "Tape" before starting the PC up, but this doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions? .

Wow, it's been a while since I posted in here.

The tape giving no sound problem has got worse and worse, so eventually decided to get the AUX-IN sorted by Baris.

Having checked out my BM54 unit, "all" Wink that was needed was the firmware upgrade, as I was prepared to make up the cable to connect to pins 3,4, and 10.

See here and here for more info.

This works a treat, but the device you connect to AUX-IN has to be alive for AUX to show up on the OBC menu. I believe I have to fit the resistors and capacitor in to the connectors for it to "just" work. Nice 1 - 6 button volume controls as well.

Here is the cable I made up:

I have also bought myself an A/V three way switch:

I can use this to switch between PC and other AUX-IN inputs. The AUX-IN doesn't seem to like multiple inputs and drifts away back to CD or Radio, so hopefully this switch will sort that problem out. Got to find a place for it to go somewhere up front that is unobtrusive but accessible. May mean having to strip out the switch so it can be tucked in behind some fascia, with just the switch showing. Plus running all the cables back and forth.

Also grabbed a ground loop isolator

hoping this will fix the hum I get from the PC power supply as soon as it is switched on (this only happens when not using PC as the sound output, but when trying to listen to radio/cd when PC is on)

Also tinkering (in my head) with how to use bluetooth and phone through either the PC or AUX-IN, and maybe to switch the rear view camera to the old TV/Aux video feed. .

And more good news....the combination of running sound through AUX-IN and the ground loop isolator has eliminated any interference I had on the radio (when PC power supply on but PC off)

Also AUX-IN shows up on main screen when plugged into the PC when it is switched off, so no need for capacitors and the like.

Also nice and loud, audio output louder than radio and CD now (was around the other way before)

Seems I can stick with my button assignments as they are, as can quickly press 6 to get volume back up with no problems.

Now to running cables and fitting my multi A/V switch. But still too cold out there! .

Off Topic
Stumbled on this post whilst reading http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic8786.h...spberry+pi

Some time ago I fitted Digi TV to my head unit but the volume is considerably lower than normal output compared to Radio / CD /Navigation etc..

Have i read this right; this line amp placed between my DVBT audio out and pin '4' audio in on the white connector
will save me having to constantly adjust the volume on the head unit when switching between TV and radio?

I sincerely hope so because my head hurts now, cheers Joe90 Banging Head Big Cry

@stormindes

Yes, after it comes out of the digibox for TV but before it goes into the radio module.

Start off turned down and test for OK-ness as you turn it up. .
