The wife has just noticed that on her tax coding, shes still down for a company car that she hasn't had for nearly 2 years. Allowance was about 2.2k per year.

You'll need the exact date she gave it up. Tax refund will pro-rate the overpaid tax on a daily basis for the tax year, plus any complete year, plus allowance for amount taken so far this tax year (which is most of it).

If she hasn't kept the P11D this might be more difficult, so any evidence eg letters from employer or the signed "car hand back" papers or whatever will help. Graham

Shes just been searching and has found her P11.

Awesome bit of advice, will be calling the tax office in the morning. As she hasn't had it for two years think thats going to be a nice windfall -> especially as we have two little ones on the way.
