All going to plan I'll be a Dad for the first time on Wednesday

Having been very busy recently getting the house ready for the new arrival I've not had much time to get the car baby proofed and have only had the occasional moment to pop on here

With that in mind I'm keen to get a cover to prevent the leather from being damaged by the ISOFIX car seat, I notice it pushes right in to the bolster which dents the leather. As my interior is perfect I'd like to try and keep it that way.

Can you advise on an appropriate cover to either protect the area under/behind the car seat or a full seat cover?

I did see a padded mat that was recommended but it wasn't colour coded, so what do you guys do?

I've got the car seat already, I bought a Maxi Cosi Pebble with FamilyFix ISOFIX base to make it easy for my wife. It was No.1 on Which hence why I went for it and we can still use belts and also use the base for the next sized car seat.

Don't worry mate, after the initial shock to the system it will be great. I don't regret it for a second, mind you the youngest never threw up in the FFRR as we mostly used the Toyota. So the FFRR interior is still pristine  MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

it doesn't really hit you know, give it 3-4weeks when they aren't sleeping for more than 2-3hrs at a time and that starts to kill you! Unless your lucky and they go 4+hrs at times

Its well worth it though, but i'd always invest in the rubber mats for the car and as above, water proof seat covers as when they are tiny and they spit up it can go over the edge of the seat, and as they get older it protects from scuffs and scrapes and mud as well as i find im cleaning mine every 2 weeks even after using baby wipes to keep the worst of it off  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I'm thinking of just putting them in a bubble with an air supply when they're in the car

Have already got LR rubber mats, looking at the seat back protectors once we move to forward facing.

It will be a fun time for you ahead. Enjoy every minute of it.. Just been through the car seat issue (again) and got a halfords seat protector. Has rubber not the bottom to stop the seat from marking the leather and flips over the base to stop feet marks as they grow. Quote cheap and really does a good job.. You can also get isofix "tubes" (Square plastic that stay attached to the car seat to stop the isofix legs from damaging the seat.

Ahebron is right by the way. They will always find you... I have 6 kids and they don't get any better when they get older.. (Just more expensive..!) Ash

I put a thick fleece blanket folded under the isofix base. It has significantly stopped any denting of the leather. I think the waterproof covers would stop scrapes and dirt but not dents..

you need to use a thick rug or a towel to minimise depressions to the seat base foam.

......also it will help if you take the seat out every so often to let the leather/foam 'bunce' up a bit.. ... - .- -.

Thanks chaps, I actually picked up a fleece blanket yesterday to tide me over which works well. Nice to pop back here and see that recommendation.
