How so? registered in may 2005 so built before then. I thought the 06MY would have only been orderable from Sept 06, no ??

Not necessarily! You can see Model Years 2010 built and registered in march 09, so that May 05 is quite late actually Laughing 2000 BMW M5, Avus Blue/LeMans Leather Interior

It is rather confusing! My 56 plate car registered on December 2006 is an MY2007.

It has adaptive lights (very cool now I've seen them at work in the fog in Aberdeen tonight, and cooled seats which I find surprisingly useful! Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

The following years model is normally available from the middle(ish) of the previous year.
Hence my 55 plate, October 2005 Vogue was a 2006 model.

I know, it's shamefull!

Looks like I'm going 2005 at this rate - can't find any 2006 RR's in my price range that arent black!

Gaz will be pleased, I found a Tonga Green one Smile

You're kidding. You put all that work in your present RR - LPG, infotainment accy's, etc - and you're going to get rid of it already? I'd understand if you were moving to an interior facelift model or a TDV8 or some such - but an 05? Why?

Cant afford an 07 :'( but would quite like the 4.2 SC coupled with some new tech to play with.

Rear view camera, venturecam, touchscreen & 4x4 info on the display appeal to me - I'm a gadget whore.

Me too Cool

Hang on another couple days - may have some new stuff coming up. Touchscreen and 4x4 info - can't help. Can do other neat stuff tho that a TS nav can't - at least for now.

My car was also registered in december 2006, but it's a 2007MY facelift.

I was going to ask if it has adaptive cruise control, but I guess not? (Picking it up tomorrow)

Paul.

While we are on the subject, I assume my 56 plate 3.6 has a rear locking diff? It hasn't got adaptive lights tho - can I retrofit?

Oh and can someone give me a good reason why the speedo/rev counter are transposed on the diesel?!

Thrasher, I think locking rear diff was only standard on the SC models, its an option on all other models. Never understood why...

My 2006 SC did not have a rear locking diff. My 2010 did.

The 4x4 display shows a 'locker' image in my rear axle, was just wondering if that's how they all look (as my 2006 SC did not show this icon on the rear)

My old RRS and my current MY08 TDV8 both showed an unlocked icon on the rear diff, but I never managed to get them to show locked. I think the software used will always show the rear as unlocked unless there is an e-diff in place in which case it will show as locked when the car thinks it needs to be engaged. Certainly this is how the system worked on the LR experience vehicle I used.

I am now hoping that I am incorrect and someone will come along and enlighten me, the benefit being that I will have inadvertently purchased a car with the rear difflock.
