What's LR's policy on seat wear?

I'm currently in a four week long battle with a dealership regarding seat wear. I have done 10,000 miles in the car and the driver's seat leather is shabby - the perforated parts of the seat have bubbled and pooled and the edges are all wrinkled. It looks an absolute state and the dealer is saying 'it's wear and tear, you can pay £800 for a new seat cover if you like.' Well no, it's supposedly 'Autobiography leather - inspected by hand to ensure perfection.' Rubbish. It's crap quality and I don't know why they won't replace it under warranty. What the hell is it going to look like after 3 years and god knows how many miles?!

Thanks! Thumbs Up

it all depends on your dealer!

me I would unpick the stitching and take it back, they will have to replace it under warranty then. Plus you could always get trading standards involved - not of merchantable quality etc

Incredible considering the price you paid for the Rangie that they even take the risk to loose you as a customer for a seat cover... Exclamation

Do you have pics for us to help you more?

Worst case scenario, it certainly can be fixed for much less than £800 by a pro.

My 'new' 2006 has perfect leather, my 2010 has 2,000 miles less on the clock, and the drivers seat leather on the right side is shabby, as the OP describes. Also the seats are not as comfy as my 2006 ones, in all honesty I'm looking forward to swapping out Smile

Interestingly my car has had a seat cover replaced under warranty (before i got it) for premature wear. Geoff
