the car i bought had the 2007 sc conversion done to the front; however the original air filter holder did apparently not fit and a cone air filter was fitted to the car.

this seems to be a good idea but the air intake noise does not suit the vehicle.

what must one do to put the original air filterholder back in - what did those of you who did the same conversion do with the air filter holder

You need to give us more information to go on:

What model is your car and what year is it? i.e 2004 TD6 or 4,4 V8 petrol

Can you post some pics of the engine bay and the area in question?

you cant use the original air filter as it wont fit,hence the removal, i have the K&N air filter and it sounds great when you put your foot down, whats the problem with your noise, do you not like the throaty sound and want something quiter or does it make a silly sucking sound and you want some ting throaty.. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

guys how do i upload pictures - searched for it on the forum but cannot find it.

the current air filter looks similar to dolphinboy's - the difference is that it is pointing downwards - i was hoping for a different solution where i could put the OEM air filter housing back - but seems that won't be possible.
