I don't know which version of computer display you have, but my car is the same age, so try this.

To the right side of the unit is an information button. Press that and you should come up with a display showing distances and timing etc. press the left hand button underneath the display, you should have 2 numbers to set - consum1 and consum2 (you can have two consumption figures to set - I use one for long term consumption and one for short journeys). Sellect either 1 or 2 then press "set" button on right hand side below display. This should start recording the mpg figure until you reset it again.

This is done from memory, if wrong let me know and I will try again sitting in the car lol No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

As above.

Get the screen to show the fuel consumption, etc with the Info button, or just press the Menu button to show various options; one of which will be the computer information.

Twiddle the right knob until you're over whichever fuel consumption set you wish to zero, so either Cons1 or Cons2. Press the right button and you should have a Zero or Reset option.

Took me ages to figure it out as well. Eventually, had to admit that looking in the Owners Manual would solve the problem, which it did.

Note: You CANNOT do this from the dash display and the column stalks. I thought this would be possible, like in, say, a Passat. But it can only be done using the colour screen. Si. <This is my name.
