My scissor jack is on its last legs after using it once to change over my wheels (terrible build quality for such a heavy and expensive car) and I have read many stories of them failing, so I am looking to chuck it and replace it with something that will fit in the spare wheel bay or tuck in to a side pocket. This will make it easier and quicker to put on winter wheels etc.

Does anyone here recommend any particular trolley or bottle jacks that are small enough to keep in the car, but also able to deal with the height required on the L322? Tom

Paddocks do a good trolley jack for about £35, but obviously not something to keep in the boot.

My scissor jack is also scrap, think I would have to use the AA to change a wheel if I was away from home, and use the trolley jack otherwise. Discovery 4 HSE

some of the options you have are,
get another scissor jack....waste of time
get a bottle jack.....fits in the range but a bit dicky to use
get a 3 ton high reach trolley jack.....does the job but big to carry around
get a can of tyre puncture foam......small and easy to carry but wont repair a split or blowout
get roadside breakdown cover .....easy life but you'll have to wait for them to arrive ... - .- -.

Looks like the bottle jack maybe an option then, I think the P38s had it as standard, I want something that enables me to change the wheels for winter/summer/offroading as well as for puncture replacement. Last time I used the foam can, the tyre was too gone due to a screw embedding itself in my nearly new tyre. Tom

What about the inflatable bag that some use even off road when the ground is too soft ??
You know the ones that you put on your exhaust ??

you have to be careful with the exhaust heat , but stilll ....

Thefirst time I used the supplied scissor jack it buckled and I could not bring car down, had to drive it off and risk body damage. Bottle jack purchased from Lidol for £18 and it fits in the spare wheel compartment.

Make sure trolley jack has enough height, and also a low height when not jacked, to enable getting under suspension with flat tyre.
As most trolley jacks will not reach the chassis of a Range Rover, then lift high enough with hanging suspension arm.

This is good but would need a plug of sorts for the other tailpipe on an ffrr...
