I like to think I am down there with the kids but my daughter uses the term "Scratter" to describe anyone who isn't as fortunate as herself, if you accept that being my daughter is fortunate.
I live in Lancashire and it's not a term I am familiar with, she's only started using it since she moved to Leeds in Yorkshire - does that mean any ne'r do well, state subsidised scrounger from the White Rose county is a Scratter or is the term more widely used? I wonder if my recent birthday - thanks for all the cards and good wishes by the way , means I am now officially out of touch and "Scratter" is more widely used than I realised. I mean would it apply to those of us who ventured into Aldi "scratting" for a cheapo battery charger for example I'd be interested in views.............. Geoff
