So I wake up this morning to find a measly 3" of snow. I need to get to Heathrow for a flight to Tokyo. No problem, I think as this snow has been about as well flagged as any in human history. There won't be a problem, right?

Wrong.

Virgin cancelled the flight. I find this out with 3 hours to go and I'm 1-1.5 hours from Heathrow on a normal day. Panic mode as I need to be there for tomorrow am.

British Airways is still flying but their Tokyo flight is 35 mins earlier. My limo called me to say he is 40 minutes away as the roads are "almost impassable". There is now a major problem.

I look out the window at the Rangie. Hit the FBH remote and start grabbing my stuff together. Load the luggage in the back and start driving with the terrain response set to Snow.

The Rangie was majestic. Got me to Heathrow without any drama. Not even a single sphincter pucker along the way. Very little traffic on the roads though.

Just reminds me why I have one of these great cars.

I'm guessing it was Virgin's business or first class service, which includes home pickup. Emirates offer the same service for business and first class travellers.

Alistair, it was a Classic Sir Laughing Jumper was in when it crashed. VA then leased Classics for the 'upper class' transportation - '94 i seem to recall.

Where I live, we have these things called "snow plows"; they're big dump-truck things, with a blade on the front. The truck drives on the snowy road, and the snow gets pushed off to the side, allowing all the Nancies in their Toyota Civics to get to work.
Sometimes they even spread some magical snow-melting stuff on the roads. Jim
