Ctek25000 will do the trick 20A in supply mode and safe - I think you need more than 6A to keep all the gizmos running. Just a bit expensive tho, compared to a supermarket special, but hey, if you can afford a FFRR....

Hi mate

Am looking at the CTEK's at the mo for my TD6, and the cigarette plug adapter for it, will it charge overnight as wasnt sure if the cigarette lighter in the car was a constant live?

The 12V socket in the boot is always live (in my case anyway). The cabin ones are not. Graham

Both cigarette lighters in the cabin and the boot aux socket in the boot are permanently live in my car.
There's two options for wiring to them in the wiring diagram.
I use a Ctek MXS 7.0 plugged into my front socket.
You need to buy the adaptor lead seperately to plug into sockets.

What's the advantage in using the sockets? I'm clamping my CTek MXS 7.00 ,directly onto the2 points designated for jump leads, exterior to the battery box--the power comes in under the bonnet, above the vertical air vents inlets. The bonnet remains closed and thealarm on.
I get the idea that Dan thinks 6 amp is not really enough, and Baben is using 20 amps. Does any one know, how many amps are necessary to supply the battery keeping charge at 100 o/o , with no sulfating at all? 2002 Vogue TD6
