Engine smoking power problems (help needed)

Hi im looking for advice on my TD6 !!! i was driving today and no problems with my engine ever !! then suddenly a loss of power like it had a small flat spot on the throttle this happened 3 times in one mile then a whirling whinning noise like something seizing up .I thought gearbox so pulled and left it to cool for an hour.I then restarted it and put into drive and all was normal but when i pulled away my power was reduced and the road for 100m was totally blocked with pure white smoke and the noise came back i drove steady for a mile and the smoke cleared to around 10% of what it was when pulling away i then free wheeled down a hill still in drive and when i put my foot on the throttle it was white smoke again the box seems quiet and smooth but i think it could be a fuel system fault or maybe turbo but not really blue smoke or a turbo sound !!! anyone any idea or same issues

Sounds like a blown turbo seal. V8 or else ...

Hi when did you last change the crankcase breather? ( the one under the the black injector cover with the Landrover badge on it )
when the get blocked they can cause a loss of power and smoke.
hope this helps 😉
