Front Indicator / Sidelight Units

When I bought my car, back in November, I noted that the bottom of the drivers side front indicator / sidelight unit was slightly damaged and not fastened at the bottom corner, near the headlight, properly.

It was one of the items replaced before I picked up the car. A genuine Land Rover part was used.

Now I notice that the new unit appears to be not fastened at the bottom corner again. It used to be OK.

Are they known for this problem ? If I buy another unit, which I'd imagine isn't cheap, will the same thing happen again.

RAVE talks about unscrewing a thumbwheel to remove the units, but this is not all that easy to get to...........

Any thoughts on the best way to fix, or have any of you had the same experience ?

Cheers

The easiest way to get to the thumb-wheel is to undo the circlip holding the inlet air pipe to the plastic bit in the wing and just bend the pipe back.
You can then get your hand in easily.
If you take the indicator off be sure to grease the threaded rod the thumb-wheel goes on for next time.
