The best of days, the worst of days

The good: Had a new set of Pirelli Scorpion Zeros all round this morning and they did a sterling job driving over Woodhead in the snow today.

The bad: The Police closed the road for a time (I have no doubt that we could have got through .... they were driving a FFRR and managed to get by at shift change time!!!), and turned everyone round. Then the road going back was closed so many of us were trapped by closures on either side. Eventually sense prevailed, aided and abetted by a couple of snow ploughs Wink , and we got through. Then I noticed the crack growing on the windscreen Evil or Very Mad . It seems to grow out of the rubber sealed edge of the screen rather than from a chip. I assume it is thermal shock. At 18 months old would this comprise a warranty item???

Anyway, I am still smiling at how well it coped in the snow. I went out a couple of weeks ago in similar snow on old tyres (2-3mm tread) and it struggled to get out of Tesco's carpark Laughing Just goes to show how much the traction depends on the tyres.
