Lumbar Pump replacement

Hi guys, anyone ever removed the lumbar pump from the driver seat ?? Mine is not working at all (the passenger seat is fine) and the rest of the seat controls work fine as well. So I am assuming it is the pump for now. How do I get to the pump ?? Does the seat needs to come out ?? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

As soon as I get mine out and test it, I will let you know whether it is the pump or something else. Thanks for the offer, will definitely use it if needed Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Do you need to take the seat back off or can you get to it from the bottom of the seat ?? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Can you hear nothing when you operate the button? The two times I've had a problem it's just been the pipe come off! Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

No sound whatsoever, the passenger seat you can hear it. Already checked/cleaned the switch but not a peep. Need to check power to the switch though to be sure. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Take the seats rear lower cover off (two torxs on the bottom) and pull the back up and off, then remove the two clips that hold the leather cover over the metal frame at the bottom and you get to a valve type mechanism for the lumber control... I bet you its unplugged itself... Have done this to a dozen FF's so far...

Hope your number 13!

Hello, if you have the standard seats you have to remove the plastic shell,
1 from the bottom up you pull out the two clips
2 more pulls from the bottom flange
3 below the flange, always at the bottom there are 2 other clips
4 parades pulling down the cover
This is the procedure for adjusting the seat without the headrest!! to do before removing the seat, and also off the battery cable
Thumbs Up

Update time. It is not working (yet ?).

I took the seatback of (Craig your method applies to my car) and found nothing wrong, other than a lack of voltage when I measured at the two plugs (valve and pump) when operating the switches (had to tape needles to the prongs of the voltage meter).

Next I move to the switch. No voltage there either but still swapped the switches to check. Other seat is still working and the driver seat is not. So that was not the solution.

Then looking a bit further I found a small loose plug, two wires, that normally plugs into the unit that holds the seat control buttons (lumbar button is a not part of it but its wires seem to go into that unit as well, difficult to see last night). I plugged that plug back in but it won't stay and I think it is not going in all the way, so it may have been damaged (in the control unit, the plug looks ok).

So maybe I need to remove the whole unit and try to open the control box (for want of a better word) and see if there is something that needs to be repaired there.

Will keep you posted. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
