Bringing the kids back from swimming, got the dreaded 'reduced engine performance' message, followed by erratic idle, rough running, then cars stalled, would restart, then revs fell, and stalled again.

I must admit I did have a minor moment where I thought 'oh no, they were right, the lpg has caused engine meltdown'.

However I did have a very low petrol level, so common sense prevailed, I forced her to run on gas, ran perfectly, got to a filling station, chucked a load of petrol in, now runs perfectly on petrol and gas.

There is a lesson there, I think the fuel pump (probably in tank one), is prone to failure, especially if you don't keep at least a quarter tank of petrol in there. So my fault, but it's fine for the moment anyway!

I always used to keep at least 1/3 of a tank in my LPG coupe but never more then 3/4-2/3 unless i was going for a long run to stop the fuel getting stagnant as petrol is like food in that it can go off so keeping a low amount and then putting another 30-50litres in keeps diluting down the stagnant part of the fuel.

Do you not force your SC over to LPG when you start it to get the most use of the system??

It switches over around 90 seconds after warming up, which can take from 1-5 miles depending on temperature. I'd far rather use a bit of petrol and play it safe! (ish)  Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!
