The prices at top of thread are about right and I have never had a problem selling a good Supercharged especially at the lower end.

Why anyone thinks that buying a CATB RRS for £14K is a good idea I have no idea! For a few more thousand you can get an excellent RRS HSE Supercharged in perfect order.....

CATB is serious damage and is is not road legal in the UK. Could be loads of hidden damage that can never put right. Stay away Shocked

I notice that the original question was related to mileage on the S/C. I cannot really comment about the sorts of mileage on the vehicles that you are looking at but I can warn you to turn around and walk away from any car with LPG. The valve seats on the S/C aren't up to it. I sold mine (56 plate) at 48k miles with it almost impossible to keep the management light off (petrol or LPG). JE later stopped LPG conversions unless a very expensive valve seat upgrade was performed. Otherwise apart from a rattly Cat I had no problems with the car Oh and that mileage went on in 18 months.

Mine is on 84000 and runs a treat, and on LPG as well Thumbs Up

From what I read and hear, JE don't have the best track record with the SC and LPG, and before anyone shoots me down, there are quite a few other conversions that I know of that are fine........

I've had more LR issues than LPG issues........but fingers crossed, all sorted now.

Oh god, not this old chestnut again!

Nick, sure it's well intentioned, but several of us are running S/C's on LPG without issue. I know some S/C's did have issues, however you'll probably find this with any LPG converted car, some installations will not work out.

Most of them seem to be down to using kits which can't handle the 400 bhp of the S/C.

The S/C suffers from EML issues with or without LPG fitted, plenty of unconverted cars get the EML coming up intermittently, my S/C did before conversion, and it still does after. I read the codes and reset it. Usually related to catalyst efficiency.

As for whether they can take the mileage, I'm aware of an LPG converted S/C with 170,000 miles on it, so I'd say the S/C can take a few miles!

Glad to hear it CG. I have been a fan of LPG for a great number of years. I ran my V8 developments 4.6 Classic and the LS1 P38 on LPG without issues both had uprated systems to cope with the demand. I didn't have the S/C converted by JE but had heard that valve seats were an issue from another independent source after I had sold it.

I am quite prepared, and want, to be convinced that it wasn't an LPG problem that was causing the Engine light issue. Neither LR main stealer or independent was able to determine the problem.

Seems that like all cars from all manufacturers there are some that never go wrong and some that always do. I have spent so much money on RRs I probably could have retired by now if I had taken up knitting instead.

If that RRS was repaired properly and you got it checked out by the AA or what have you to cover yourself and ensure its had an independant check i'd take the gamble.

As long as i was convinced it was a safe car to return to the road, which can legally be done, then i'd run it and not worry about it as im sure come a year or twos time it could be sold on again for a little less money quite easily as people will always want to get a bargain car as long as its good.

Anyway we are all digressing from the OT from the OP and appologies for my part in this Smile

Scotland 2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Rimini Red

So...went and done it!

2006 VSE, silver, 4.2 Supercharged, black interior with RSE! Two previous owners (new - 09 ~ 48K miles, and 09 to 11 ~ 73K)

Already had the rear bumper off to repair the parking sensors (had the long bleep and flashing PDC light) nearside rear wiring was not working (not broken but just not working) so patched a new bit of wire in and it worked. (After buying a new sensor as it wasn't clicking). Also. had the trim off around the rear wash wipe to see why no washer fluid, but all it was was bunged up as it flowed well after the rubber hose off the spindle.

Very nice to drive and got 19.9 mph coming back up from Glasgow. I am sure I will get that down a bit on the daily commute.

One or two slight niggles include heated screen doesn't clear 4-5 inches on drivers side (just in line of sight) and the drivers mirror housing is loose although mirror doesn't shoggle and the arm is firm on the car door. (Oh and the chrome mirror covers
-will have to pull them off).

My SC has also just done the parking sensor bleep thing as you said. The rear don't seam to work. What exactly did you do to fix it.

Tim, nice colour of S/C!!

Neither front or back sensors were working on mine. When you put it in reverse you got the fault of one long bleep and the PDC light blinking.

So, I turned ignition on (not started but in position II, i think) and pressed PDC button, you can then listen to each sensor and hear it clicking. It is a fast almost tic, tic, tic noise. The only one of mine that wasn't clicking was rear near side.

Off with the bumper (youtube has vids) and withdraw faulty sensor. The PDC loom connects thru a push connector in the offside rear. From this colour coded wire connector I put an ohm meter over it to test wire continuity and found one of the three (each sensor has three colour coded wires) was not in continuity ie broken. I cut the 'broken' wire about 4" from sensor and tried continuity from where I had cut to loom connector. It worked. So took sensor end and cut the cut wire closer to end to (about 2") and it luckily had continuity to the sensor. So patched a new bit of wire in.

To test continuity of the sensor end I used a bit of thin wire to put down the female connector as my test meter points were too big for the hole.

Lots of info on here if you search including loom being worn or scraped against chassis. Not sure what problems you get if it is the ecu.

cheers for that. i get the same faults come up. seems to be just the rears that dont work. when its warmer i'll have alook at them.

Good to see another supercharged owner ...what I love about them is they always give you the best mpg on the way home after buying them. Mines did 23mpg now I get 11mpg!!!!! Get used to your petrol station...you be there a lot Smile Range Rover SC 35th Anniversary 2006
