From what i can tell fro that picture I can't see what the difference is. I don't have an AUX option as mine is an 06MY but I can still play MP3 CD's, all touch screen models can.

Did you have an AUX socket to start with? Discovery 4 HSE

It goes via the CD interface you select CD or Other,

the screen shot shows "other" the CD1-5are the first playlists on the Ipod CD6 is play all its a PITA i think to swap between Ipod and CD but then now the Ipod works via the screen I wont need to play CDs

The Ipod is in the glovebox contected to the car with a nice little LR logo . Please note that its not connected by the aux socket as the track info would not show

But yes I have a Aux socket

Good work Ken, I didn't know this either! Thumbs Up

It seems simple, all you need to do is load your tracks into a playlist numbered 1 to 5 and then the iPod should put those 5 playlists in the first 5 positions.

Brilliant find! Thumbs Up

I think LR stoped making the ACM, maybe a year into the start of the commercialization.
The main problem is the compatibility with Ipod generations, meaning as just an example, 2nd won't work but 3rd will. 2nd on a nano will work and 3rd no. So It all got a bit confusing with people complaining about it, so they stoped making them.

The ACM fits in every post 2007MY car. Meaning from end 2006 till the introduction of the 2010MY with it's new sytems.
2006's or 2005's it's really a risk, but if its a touchscrenn it should work...

On mine i've used an Iphone and the regular ipod is a nano 4th gen, and it works perfect. Taking apart the characteristics of operation, like having to shut down the car to witch back to CD, no navigation on the device, etc... I think its one of best 400€ that i've spent on the car.

Another thing, based on the looks of the box and connections I think the ACM is exacly the same box as this:

http://dension.com/index.php?pageID=11

And this one is cheapper. If anyone wants to take the risk...

The land rover ack will fit 05 & 06 MY vehicle. I have one. The only real difference is that he fitting instruction give you directions forthe 07 MY dashboard so you just need to modify your approach a little. The main difference reall is that the IHU is behind the touchscreen rather that the glovebox on pre 07 cars. 06MY 4.4 V8 Autobiography Cairns Blue with Navy & Parchment Interior

I don't think that the ACM is out of production, I've just fitted one to a ffrr so it was brand new from a dealer Smile

You can't buy a RR compatible Gateway from Dension or their dealers, I think they are on sole contract to LR.

Good.
I thought I heard that it had been removed from LR's price lists...

Didn't knew that.
But my idea is that the gateway500 is the same box.
So, by buying yourself a 500 and then installing it, it would come off cheaper and it should work fine.
I didn't take that risk on my car for some 100€, so I have the full ACM..

The Gateway 500 is in the same housing but according to Dension - who I spoke to - will not work. Makes sense too, as these days everything is dependent on the firmware - which Dension obviously is not going to make available for less in the Gateway 500 if they are under contract to LR even under the ssumption that the hardware is very similar/the same.

The ACM is def. still available from LR. Cost difference is not that great anymore either, BTW. I was quoted a price of under GBP300.
