I have just been ringing round local parts dealers for a service kit and some oil for my FFRR TD6.

As long as it meets the required specs i dont see why not.

Nothing wrong with Comma oils, I have the 5W-40 fully synthetic in mine. |

Check out what Opie Oils (on the forum) can do you for. IIRC 10 litres for £58 last time out.

Sorry, went away and checked was £58 for 10 litres, but still good price for fully synthetic .

I have a TD6 2005 which i had from new and it has 56k on the clock, i decided that now it is out of all warranty i would do a service myself as i am fed up taking back the tools they leave in the engine!!

I would like to flush, but what does one use to flush with, a different type of oil? I wouldn't do it every time but think it might be worth it every 25K or so? .

I use Unipart 5W40 fully synthetic, i believe it to be re-badged Fuchs TITAN Supersyn. It meets all BMW, VW & Audi specs and at around £20 for 5 litres why use anything else. |

I'm never convinced of flushing, it could loosen a well stuck but of sludge and then clog the filter bit by bit or even worse, the pump if it was bad enough... |

Regular oil changes will eliminate the need for flushing |

The oil for a4.4 TDV8 is 5w-30 but meeting specification WSS-M2C934-B, no one seems to have such oil, is this LR being clever. letters not necessarily in the right order |

Noticed in ASDA today that they are selling A3/B3 spec castrol for £10..... That's for the big tub.. 4 or 5 litres. Previously..
