As a former user of Discovery 3 I can confirm the FFRR is way better in snow! A joy to drive when the others drift away and it parks in spots forbidden to the rest of the mortals...

Ive had so much fun driving in the snow today.

I'm truly amazed at just how the FFRR performs in the snow! Centre of the road slush or compacted snow/ice isnt an issue.

Altho the fella that stopped me this morning to say "you'll get stuck if you go down that hill" took the biscuit!

My reply of "bet you a fiver i dont" followed by me descending then ascending the hill kinda left him with a shocked look.

Even the AA have seen the light with a number of Land Rover vehicles in their fleet where their vans can't get to.

Picked up my little one last night from nursery and had no problems getting around. One guy in a Mazda 6 struggled to get into the car park. He almost slid into the side of the roller door.

It still amazes me slightly how a little snow stops the whole country. You would think the government would pulled together the infrastructure to keep the country moving

EDIT: Car lost it's composure today. I must have went over some black ice under the the rear wheels cause the car went sideways at the station car park

I've fitted a set of Vredestein Wintracs to mine. It makes the Range Rover even better. T/C hasn't felt the need to wake up and the ABS has only pulsed under heavy provocation even on compacted snow and ice.

I'd recommend winter tyres from early December onwards, yep, even in the UK. Not sure you should be reading this bit.

Done over 250 miles in mine in the snow this last week. Did run from Bury to Lancaster Sunday last and it was at -5 when I set off and all the roads were ungritted through Bury - Bolton - motorway. Cars were crawlinig everywhere but he FFRR romped it. Got there in the normal time as there was never anything in front of me!!!
Did drive on some sheet ice up/down a very narrow lane (about 18inches wider than the car) from an old farmhouse tonight . Going up was Ok but pretty slippy, the car wanting to slide towards the ditch on the passenger side , but coming down, I decided low ratio was the tool of choice (didn't use the hill descent though) and it worked fine. My favourite has been sitting in 9 inches of snow at traffic lights and and catapulting off the line in an amazingly straight line. That traction control (or DSC ) is brilliant. Steve

I have just returned from spending Christmas and Boxing day with my daughter, nothing special there, but the farmhouse she lives in is 2 miles up a single track road in rural south west Scotland, this track was frozen hard packed snow/ice, getting up and down this track proved totally uneventfull , also the confidence you have in the vehicle when considering the 250 mile drive ahead and that is why IMHO ffrr is no.1
