On the 3.6 tdv8 the fuel injectors can cause vibration/humming noises, often accompanied by less than perfect gear shifts. Can you check injector values on IID like on the 3.6?

I have now managed to fix the noisy High Pressure Fuel Pump!!!

Well, I say I did... by that I mean I passed a few notes with the kings face on it to someone else who did the hard work!

The issue, in my case at least, was the fuel sender in the fuel tank was no longer working! I am surprised that the car started at all, however there clearly is enough of a draw elsewhere!
In my case the fuel pump was actually fine, it was a dodgy connector that had burned out and needed to be replaced.

All in, about £450 for a few hours labour, a replacement something or other, and an oil change too whilst it was in the garage.

And now I can put my foot down without fear of that noise starting up and staying there continuously for the rest of the journey! oh the joy of a 2 1/2 tonne vehicle accelerating surprisingly quickly!!! Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

Past rides:
2014 Audi Q7 3.0d (good riddance)
