Odd button

I apologise in advance for this off topic question.
My son has a 2011 Range Rover Sport.
What is this button for ?

 2013 SDV8 4.4 SE Luxor.
1960 Series 2 88 inch diesel.
1955 Series 1 86 inch petrol.

Not a factory feature as I recall form my RRS ownership days. Possibly an aftermarket alarm/immobiliser/tracker button?
