255 tyres on a 9.5J rim

Hello all.

Looking for some advice. Been reading the forum section with interest but it's added to my confusion.
Bought a 2008 L322SC with 22" Stormer alloys on it shod with 285/35R22 ditchfinders.
Don't like the look as the look a bit like wagon wheels and besides, one is welded and another is buckled.

Bought a set of 20" autobiography alloys cheap from gumtree with the intention of getting them refurbed and putting some Grabber A/T3s on it.

The threads on FFRR seem to suggest that 255/50 is the tyre to have.
To keep the same rolling radius as OEM I think I either need 255/50R20 or 275/45R20.
My question is will a 255 tyre fit on a 9.5J rim?

The autos have 275/40R20 Khumos on and are about 1" less diameter than the stormers.
I've just positioned the auto on the rear for comparison.

Thanks in advance.
Ed

255 are too narrow for that rim - you need 275/45/20 for an L332 which is near enough the correct rolling radius 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

I thought the 255s might be too narrow.
Thanks. ---------------------------------

On my previous 322’s I’ve had 3 sets of the General AT3’s they suit the car really well in that size - there was a chap on here who ran 285/50/20 but they are oversize and don’t think the spare fitted the boot 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Thats the 20"s fitted shod with 275/45R20 Uniroyal Rainsport5.

A subtle change but I fair noticed the difference even on the short drive back from the wheel shop. ---------------------------------
